My Entrepreneurship Story - Where I'm at

My story is mainly where I am at today in my career. A few months ago, I had the amazing opportunity to join a small business. La Tienda is a blessing. I never knew I could love what I do so much. Although I am in accounting, I've had the opportunity to sit down with the owners. Their father started the business 20 years ago with a dream to connect life and experiences from Spain to the US. La Tienda is an online retailer of artisanal products from Spain. Our chorizos, Jamon, and sangria are life changing! No seriously, it is that good. One of our products was even on the Today show right before Christmas. We have also sold some Iberico hams to people like John Kerry and the Pope himself. It is very cool to see a family of entrepreneurs make their dreams come true. They have been encouraging me to continue my education as well as allowing me to pick their brains and grow within their family office environment. I think the biggest lesson I've learned from them is to keep moving forward. In the accounting office I've seen the hardships, but they don't let it get them down. It is a fantastic environment and I can only hope to find success like them...something more than just the monetary gains of a business. I was looking forward to this class to get the education side of what they do. This class may be required for my degree, but I am happy to be enrolled.

  1. That sounds like quite the cool adventure! Very cool that you got to experience more than just the monetary and learning benefit of a job, you got to have fun and make a connection with the people doing it! I felt the same originally about this class, its also required for my degree, but now I'm happy to be enrolled too. 2. Wow this is a super cool story. I do enjoy eating chorizo and beans so if you even want to send some over you can. But, these experiences are going to last with you forever and you will do great things and be able to look back at this as a major stepping stone in your life. I hope to see whatever business you get into succeed and you prosper in life. You should check my blog out at
