A complete Bug List

Bug List

20 things

1.     I open the door and hold it regularly for people, it absolutely bugs me when people don’t extend the courtesy of a thank you.
       a.     I think this exists because our society has become oblivious to their surroundings.

2.     I was a waitress for years, so it bothers me when we receive poor service. I don’t mind waiting for food because eating out is a social event for me, but for some reason if my water is filled I get frustrated.
       a.     I feel as though keeping a water glass full is a simple gesture showing that a server is     paying attention to you. It is something completely in their control. It is a problem most likely due to lack of pride in their work.

3.     It seriously bugs me when I encounter those who feel entitled to everything.
       a.     It seems to be a frequent problem in the generations coming up. In my opinion, all these “insta-celebrities” have made it easy for others to think they don’t have to work for success.

4.     Often I have to accept that people were not raised the same as I was. It bugs me that I would lay my life down for anyone, but people I love the most don’t feel the same. I know it isn’t intentional, but it still hurts.
        a.     I think it comes down to how you are raised. I know I’m bugged just because of frustration that not everyone thinks like me.

5.     It bugs me when people at work are always trying to pass the buck. If you do something wrong, own it and move on.
         a.     Responsibility seems to be hard for some to accept.

6.     I find it unsettling anytime I encounter an employee with severe attitude. I try to accept that some people have bad days but I went years struggling to find employment and those that have it seem ungrateful.
          a.     I think it can be a number of things. Either overworked, unappreciative bosses, or plain discontent with life in general.

7.     It may seem silly, but I am bugged by the movie industry. If I see one more remake of a classic, I may just scream.
          a.     Lack of creativity. Plain and simple.

8.     When I call a customer service line and it’s automated with voice recognition of answers. It never seems to register right and I just want to speak to a live person!
          a.     This exists due to companies trying to cut costs. One place where technology has not helped.

9.     Expanding on that, the ever growing problem of outsourcing in customer service departments. It is very frustrating to have no mutual understanding because of language barriers.
           a.     Outsourcing to other countries to help a company’s bottom line – So many problems.

10.  During the early morning routine of getting three kids and myself ready for work, I cannot stand our cat! She gets under my feet and trips me constantly.
           a.     She’s a cat and needy.

11.  I am irritated by my computer at work everyday. Running reports is a painfully long process and thoroughly ruins my productivity.
           a.     It is an outdated system and my computer needs to be replaced, but the company cannot fund an upgrade at this time.

12.  I am usually annoyed by the tedious process of finding recipes that fit my diet needs. It is never fun to pick apart all the ingredients to make sure I’m not allergic to it.
           a.     I developed allergies after having my children. Not sure why it happened but it did.

13.  Usually when there is a good sale on children’s items, it never fails they are always out of my girl’s sizes. It drives me crazy.
           a.     I suppose the world is trying to save me money.

14.   I hate that after losing 100 lbs., I still can’t look in the mirror proud.
           a.     The loose skin and signs of having three kids have really been hard to accept.

15.  I can’t stand that every time I go into have my car worked on, they assume I know nothing and treat me like I’m dumb.
            a.     It is a regular problem that people assume women don’t know anything about vehicles. It really is something considering I used to be a service writer for Mercedes Benz.

16.  I am particularly annoyed by people who complain just for the sake of it and refuse to accept the help needed.
             a.     Pride is a problem for some. Then again, I’ve encountered many people who are just miserable as a whole.

17.  I am bugged that at 30, I’ve already had cancer and multiple medical issues which make me feel much older.
             a.     Genetics are a tricky thing.

18.  I cannot stand those who specifically try to come to me and start a relationship for the specific purpose of peddling their at home business products.
             a.     Too funny, what could make one an entrepreneur annoys me. I suppose the popularity will fade and only those that are serious will come out on top.

19.  It bugs me that yesterday was in the mid sixties and today it is snowing. Virginia weather cannot make up it’s mind.
              a.     I’m actually not sure why it is like that, but I do know the weather people are clueless.

20.  The largest thing that bugs me is how incredibly difficult it is to adopt. The hoops and emotional toll are almost too much at times.
a.     It exists because of failures in placements. They need to be thorough and picky to keep kids safe. Unfortunately, some have ruined it for those who want to share their heart and home.

This assignment was much harder than I anticipated. I feel as though coming up with a list, makes me seem petty and ungrateful. Good thing I don’t walk around angry all the time and this is just a minor assignment J

  1. My favorite of these by far is the one about people needing to own their mistakes and move on. It is so accurate and that was 100% on my list as well.

  2. I think only one item on our lists is the same, the one about computers answering the phone, I hate that so much. But, if I had read yours before I did mine I would have stolen a few (passing the buck, Virginia weather, and repair shops assuming you don't know whats going on). I had the same trouble, I've read a couple others and it seems most of us had the same problem. I think its because we all live in the US, here we have fairly easy access to everything we really need, so when we have to write down these little things that bug us in our daily lives it looks small and petty, especially when compared to some developing countries where they need things like electricity, running water, and food. Here's a link to my list, http://thegarrick.blogspot.com/2016/01/bug-list.html.
