Week 14
1) What was the biggest surprise for you in
the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as
different from your expectations? I really enjoyed reading how 3M’s
philosophy came about. It is always interesting to see how companies evolve and
what they stand on in terms of innovation. Tolerating failure is a particularly
interesting process to follow.
2) Identify at least one part of the reading
that was confusing to you. I found these two chapters pretty hard to digest. I
can say my interest level was less than other chapters and that might have been
a part of it. Also, in other chapters I already had a background of the
information. The corporate entrepreneurship topic is something completely new
to me.
3) If you were able to ask
two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why? I would like to ask
the author his personal feeling towards sustainable entrepreneurship. In the
society we live in, does he feel all companies should be adopting a more eco
friendly process? I’d also ask him where he feels the global market will be if
we keep going the way we are politically. I feel our political climate is
directly related to global entrepreneurship and it’s success.
4) Was there anything you think the author
was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How? There was
not anything in the reading I could find to disagree with exactly. It isn't a topic I knew much about nor felt strongly enough to question.
